Africa, the birthplace of coffee, has a long history of growing, processing, and harvesting coffee. Many of the regions produce intense fruity, wine-like, and syrupy coffees.
The Pacific Islands such as Sumatra, Papua New Guinea, and Celebes produce some of the world’s most unique and interesting coffees. Coffees from this region tend to be syrupy, earthy, grainy, and pair well with a wide variety of foods.
Central and South American countries are the largest producers of specialty coffee in the world. They are generally washed coffees with a clean, bright taste and a nice acidity. Coffees from these regions tend to exhibit nutty, chocolaty, and citrus characteristics.
Joe Bean has developed some compelling blends by combining unusual, diverse coffees. We believe that each coffee is incredible on it’s own, but something really fun happens when we pair them together.
All of our decaffeinated beans have used the Mountain Water process method. When most people try our decaffeinated coffees, the first thing they say is that it actually has flavor. We believe that says it all.
